About Us

Vision Link is a specialist service offering treatments to assist people with reading problems, dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, learning difficulties and brain injuries. We are uniquely positioned to assist the brain's ability to process visual information.

The cornerstone of our treatment is precision-tinted coloured overlays and filters (Irlen Spectral Filters). Vision Link has been appointed by the Irlen Institute based in the USA to exclusively deliver Irlen Clinic treatments throughout the East Coast region of the North Island. There are over 80 affiliated Irlen Clinics worldwide and over 7,000 educators have been trained in the Irlen Method.

Our Vision Link Clinic Director is Mark Eagle. Mark is a Behavioural Optometrist and Irlen Diagnostician who has been practicing Optometry at Shattky Optometrists in Hastings for over 25 years. Mark has a particular skill and passion for helping those faced with difficulties associated with reading problems, dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, learning and brain injuries.

Maree Gallagher is our Irlen Screener. She has found her Irlen work quite awe inspiring. Maree's job is to screen the children who appear to be having visual problems associated with their reading difficulties. Using Irlen coloured sheets, Maree finds out whether Irlen Spectral Filters are likely to be a solution for these children. If they do, then they will be referred to Mark Eagle, Irlen Diagnostician, to refine the diagnosis and prescribe Irlen tinted spectacle lenses.
